La artista, Ileana Ivandic
La artista, Ileana Ivandic

I started painting from a very early age in my native Transylvania, Romania. I first studied in the atelier of Fiona de Vletter in Zambia and later Fine Arts at the University of Windsor, Canada and Art History at York University, Canada.

For over 50 years I have worked, taught and exhibited in 9 different countries. I have created over 400 original works, most of which has been sold for the benefit of charitable organizations that promote education for children in extreme poverty (Mary's Meals, VIS Foundation, Mano Amiga, Nuestros Niños, among others). I believe art should be taught more; for many years I have given classes on drawing, painting and art history, in schools, privately and online. After all this time without a digital presence of my own, I now find myself in need of using the social media, which I have avoided due to concerns about plagiarism and the theft of intellectual property.
